Hi, I’m Allie.
I’m a queer and AuDHD writer with a hyper-fixation on inclusivity and representation. I love the color purple, Michigan football, the Detroit Lions, and the Boston Bruins. When I’m not absorbed by a book, I like to watch sports and spend time with my nephews.
A San Diego, CA native now residing in South Carolina, I am allergic to the cold, rain, snow, and mosquitos.
Body Check
an age gap, workplace dating, secret relationship hockey romance
She’s the team’s new physical therapist. He’s the captain facing the end of his career. But the window between their apartments isn’t the only thing keeping them apart.
Amelia Owen isn’t supposed to get involved with players—especially not the one whose injuries could end his career. But when her new neighbor turns out to be Jason McKittrick, the recently divorced captain of the Boston Grizzlies ten years her senior, keeping things professional gets a lot harder. Especially when he keeps catching her late-night, solo performances through the window.
Jason doesn’t have time for distractions—not with his knee hanging by a thread and a season that could be his last. But Amelia is impossible to ignore, and the more time he spends with her, the more he wants the kind of connection he thought he’d never have again.
She’s forbidden. He’s a complication she doesn't need. Once they cross this line, everything changes—and neither of them wants to stop.
BODY CHECK is book 2 in the Boston Grizzlies Hockey Club series.

I also adored the couple's appearance reflected real people rather than the supermodel perfect we get in most romances. Arielle and Asher had me squeeing almost the entire time.

Allie Lasky did an amazing job writing about the mental health and disease representation.

Despite the apparently fluffiness this is a pretty hard hitting romance novel. It explores big themes (autistic relationships, loving yourself) that progress naturally.

There is some beautiful rep in here including gorgeously and lushly written Jewish rep, realistic neurodivergent rep and beautifully described bisexual rep that was very deeply and respectfully discussed by the characters in their steamy and super consensual bedroom scenes.

Allie Lasky did a fantastic job representing illnesses that we have to live with, and despite the fact that Jared was healthy otherwise, he had one, and managed it very well. I loved how mental health was brought to light, and not shown as something entirely wrong, but being able to cope with it in this day.
